A Grey Wolf?

One afternoon, while coming back from a kayaking trip, we were blessed with the opportunity to see a wild Grey Wolf on Quadra Island. For us the wolf symbolized loyalty, family, friendship, teamwork, protection, wildness, freedom, instincts and playfulness. All noble traits. Ones that resonated with us. So on that day, as we were starting our own sea kayaking & land-based whale watching tour company, Grey Wolf Expeditions was born.

JESSE HASLEHURST

Business Owner & lead Guide

Hello everyone. I am Jesse Haslehurst, the owner of Grey Wolf Expeditions, senior kayak guide and a lifelong resident of Black Creek on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. Today, I want to share my journey with you and inspire you to follow your dreams.

I started my career journey in 2004 when I enrolled at North Island College, with the vision of working in the tourism industry. With determination, hard work and dedication, I was soon hired as a lead kayak guide and have been fortunate enough to guide in amazing places like Vancouver Island, New Zealand and Croatia.

The core value that has driven me through all my success is staying true to myself. I have always stayed true to who I am and what I want to achieve, allowing me to create the life of my dreams. If I can do it, then you can too. Dreams and desires don’t come easily, but if you work hard and stay true to yourself and your beliefs, anything is achievable. Believe in yourself and don’t be afraid to take risks; they could lead to fulfilling success. And above all, understand and utilize your own strengths.

So take a leap of faith. Follow your dreams and make them a reality.

DAN WHALEN

assistant Guide

Hello and welcome! I’m Dan Whalen, a kayak guide at Grey Wolf Expedition’s Orca Camp on Vancouver Island.

I’m here to speak about inspiring adventures. I’m lucky enough to witness and experience wonderous scenes every day at Orca Camp. Whether it’s watching the sun rise over the peaks of snow-capped mountains, or listening to the whales singing their morning song, it’s always an experience that will inspire you to explore.

Exploration is the heart of adventure. It’s something that we all should strive to experience, to be in the moment, to find out what’s around the corner, to learn something new and to ultimately grow deeper in our connection with the world around us.

At Orca Camp, we believe in making these experiences accessible to all. It doesn’t matter if you’re a big shot executive or an everyday person, adventure awaits and it’s up to you to take the plunge and jump.

Every journey starts with a single step and I hope that after hearing of my experiences, you too will be inspired to go out and explore this amazing world around us. Thank you.
