Pacific White-Sided Dolphins

This is the all time favourite of whale watchers on the Coast. These dolphins love to entertain, are full of positive energy and it seems that they like to travel close to humpback whales. As a group, white-sided dolphins are both acrobatic and sociable. These dolphins are commonly seen in groups of 10-50, but larger groups may form temporarily. They eat a variety of creatures, such as squid, anchovies, hake and other small fish. Calving and mating occur from late spring to fall, and gestation is estimated to be 9-12 month. A mother nurses her calf for up to 18 month.
