If you have always thought that seeing Orcas, Humpback Whales and Dolphins in its natural habitat would make your dream come true, then our Whale Watching Base Camp in Johnstone Strait is the perfect place for you. Johnstone Strait is a Marine Highway. Not only Orcas, whales and other dolphins enjoy this unique place thru-out the summer. You will see gorgeous cruise ships, top notch fishing boats and other kayakers/campers.

Our base camp is set up between Robson Bight Ecological Reserve and Naka Creek at Fine Beach. It is the perfect location to view Orcas close to the beach. You will spend the 4 days / 3 nights camping, fishing, sea kayaking and of course whale watching. This trip is very relaxing and rejuvenating.

All meals, snacks, gear and kayaking equipment included.  Nature Base Camp with Orcas, other dolphins and whales, no lights, no street, no cell phone reception. Back to the roots, as we used to say. A great way to re-connect with nature and see what is really important in life.

Yes it is! This trip is very exciting, rejuvenating and re-connecting trip in BC's wilderness. It's pure, is wild, it's green. To see Orcas in their natural habitat confirms that they are very social, loving and caring animals. The Orca is a dolphin and is aware of its surroundings. We have a beautiful base camp set up all summer long. With luxurios tents, three hot meals a day and local professional kayak guides with combined of 25 years of experience in this area. This tour is "camping" at it's Best. We provide all gear. 

What does the Base Camp look like?

Our Whale Watching Base Camp is a comfortable Nature Base Camp, it has no street access and is only accessable via boat. It is quit, remote and eco friendly. For every nature lover a must do while visiting BC! 

No where are Orcas as predictable as in Johnstone Strait from mid July to mid September. Whale watching while sea kayaking or camping at the beach, fishing and relaxing with family and friends at one of the best places on earth. Johnstone Strait is filled with Orcas thruout the summer and other whales such as Humpback's and Mink's. Whale watchers paradise for locals and visitors from all over the world.

Where does the tour start from?

This tour starts with a ride from Campbell River up north into the wilderness of Johnstone Strait, Vancouver Island side. At camp, you will find yourself in the wild of the BC's rainforest. A comfortable walk-in tent equipt with two twin air beds, two fleece blankets, high quality sleeping bags, camping chairs, small table, tent lights and pillows. This trip is all inclusive. All meals from lunch day 1 until lunch last day, gear, equipment and fishing gear. Campfires will keep you warm at night.
